Meet The Team

A Life of Service Edward Dermody, born on June 28, 1963, in Dunmore, Pennsylvania, embarked on a journey that would define him by service. After graduating from Dunmore High School, he answered the call to duty, joining the U.S. Navy in 1981. Rising through the ranks, Ed achieved the esteemed position of Chief Petty Officer, demonstrating his dedication and leadership. Following his military service, Ed transitioned into law enforcement, where he honed his skills in protecting and serving communities. His expertise in security eventually led him to a career in engineering, specializing in designing high-security systems for large-scale government entities and local government facilities. Ed’s commitment to helping others extended beyond his professional roles. For the past 30 yrs years, he has been a dedicated volunteer with The American Legion, Veterans Of Foreign Wars, and Operation Bar-B-Q Relief, for the past 8 yrs with deployments to disaster-stricken areas in Panama City Beach, Mexico Beach, Tallahassee, Wilmington South Carolina and others. His tireless efforts have helped provide over 120,000 hot meals and essential support to communities recovering from natural disasters. In 2024, Ed and his wife, Patricia of 43yrs, founded Help Us To Help Others, Inc., a nonprofit organization dedicated to assisting veterans, first responders, and communities affected by natural disasters. Through preparedness, response, and recovery initiatives, the organization aims to make a lasting impact on those in need. Ed’s life is a testament to his unwavering dedication to service. Whether defending his country in the Navy, protecting communities as a law enforcement officer, or volunteering to aid those affected by disasters, Ed has consistently demonstrated a commitment to making a positive difference in the world.

Patricia Dermody born January 27th 1967 in Newburyport Mass. A graduate of Norfolk High School in 1985. Patricia married the following year and her travels began as the wife of a sailor. Patricia worked in education with challenged youth, the banking industry as a loan processor and currently the serves as the Co-Founder of Help Us To Help Others, Inc. Patricia is the mother of two children, a grandmother of two grand children and active several charity organizations supporting veterans, first responders and the community after natural disasters.
